Filmfestivals in Frankreich (Artikel in Englisch) [fr]

Every week a film festival takes place somewhere in France. The country can be justly proud of organising no fewer than 166 film festivals each year. Some of these are world events, such as the Cannes Film Festival or the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Many of them focus on films from abroad, such as the American Film Festival in Deauville, the Festival of British Cinema in Dinard, the Italian Film Festival in Annecy or the Asian Film Festival in Vesoul. These festivals have a dual role. They bring talents before new audiences, and give publicity and promotion to the prizewinning films.
